This Higo tsuba is a design used by most all of the Higo schools. It is often seen in the Jingo group.This tsuba is probably from the 3rd or 4th generation. The iron metal seems to be good and thin. The piece has some excess rust which should be boned off.The silver is done in a nunome style. Some of it is tarnished or worn off. The diagonal cut lines looks like rain. The backside at the bottom is carved a vajra - a buddhist ritual object.
